There are three batteries in the UPS application: including open liquid lead-acid batteries, maintenance-free batteries, nickel-chromatitis. The battery allocated by the UPS manufacturers generally exempt the battery, below to prevent the battery to introduce the three batteries to the main introduction:
1: Open liquid lead-acid battery: Such batteries can be divided into 8-10 years, 15-20 years of life. Since this battery sulfuric acid electrolysis produces corrosive gases, such batteries must be installed in a ventilated and away from the seizure electronic equipment, and the battery room should be laid in the ceramic tile.
Due to evaporation, open cells need to measure the specific gravity periodically and add water. This battery can endure high temperature and high pressure and deep discharge. The battery room should be non-smoking and an open battery holder.
This battery cannot be shipped after charging, so it must be charged at the on-site installation of primary charging of 55-90 hours. Normal per section is 2V, and the initial charging voltage is 2.6-2.7V.
2: Maintenance-free battery: Also known as the valve controlled lead-acid battery, need to follow the following principles in use and maintenance:
A: The sealing battery can allow for a range of 15 degrees to 50 degrees, but can extend the battery life within 5 degrees -35 degrees. The battery chemical composition below zero will change and cannot be charged. Used within 20 degrees to 25 degrees will receive the highest life. The battery will get long-lived but lower capacity in low temperature operation, which will achieve higher capacity but short life.
B: The relationship between battery life and temperature can be referred to the following rules, and the temperature exceeds 25 degrees Celsius, each high 8.3-based battery life will be reduced.
C: The design of the maintenance-free battery is 2.3V / section. 12V battery is 13.8V. CSB recommends 2.25-2.3V per section. When the 120-stroning battery is connected in series, the temperature is higher than the Celsius 25 degrees, and the temperature is 3 mV per liter. H: The battery life (charge and discharge) depends on the discharge rate, discharge depth, and the recovery of recovery, where the most important factor is the discharge depth. When the discharge rate and time must, the scalable depth is shallow, the longer the battery cycle life. The maintenance battery is about 200 times in the 25 degree 100% deep discharge.
I: The battery is expressed as a capacity attenuation during arrival life, internal short circuit, housing deformation, polar corrosion, and low open circuit voltage.
J: IEEE Defines the end of battery life to 80% of the capacity of insufficient nominal capacity AH. Some UPS manufacturers define the life of the battery to be 50-60% of the capacity to the nominal capacity.
K: It is absolutely prohibiting different capacity and battery mixing of different manufacturers, otherwise the battery life will be reduced.
l: If the two sets of batteries are used in parallel, the battery connection should be guaranteed to be the same.
M: The maintenance-free battery means that there is no need to add liquid, but regularly check that the outer casing has cracks, and the electrolyte is still necessary.
3: Nickel-chromium battery: Such batteries are different from lead-acid batteries, and hydrogen and oxygen do not produce corrosive gases during electrolysis, and thus can be mounted next to the electronic device. And the water consumption is rare, and it is generally no need to maintain. Normal life is 20-25 years. It is expensive than the battery mentioned earlier. The initial installation cost is approximately three times the lead-acid battery. It does not affect the battery life due to high ambient temperature, nor does it affect the battery capacity due to low ambient temperature. Generally, each voltage is 1.2V, and the UPS needs to be designed with a higher charger voltage due to such a battery.
Two: Advantages and Disadvantages:
1 Open lead-acid battery:
Advantages: less investment, life expectancy is maintenance-long, low temperature requirements.
Disadvantages: Maintenance is more complicated, specialized battery, corrosive gas is discharged, and it is necessary to charge for 50-90 hours at the scene, and special person should be maintained.
2: Maintenance-free battery:
Advantages: No need to use maintenance, can be transported in full charge, no specialtenance is required.
Disadvantages: Not in time, recovery charging will damage the battery, sensitive to temperature, short life, more expensive than lead-acid batteries.
3: Nickel-chrome battery:
Advantages: The maintenance requirements are low, long life, no sensitivity, no harmful gas emissions.
Disadvantages: The most expensive in three batteries.
Three: UPS common battery
The current computer center is generally mostly maintenance-free batteries, which is more convenient, but also need to do the following:
1: Discharge once every three to four months to oxidize the plates.
2: The ambient temperature should be maintained at 20-25 degrees.
3: The connection cannot be too tight and too loose, and it needs to be checked.
4: Timely check replacement after three years.
