Can lead-acid batteries support charging

Can lead-acid batteries support chargingThe SLA itself is not suitable for fast charging - typical charging time is 8~16 hours. The SLA must always be stored in the charging state. In the discharge conditions, the battery causes sulfurized, if it is not impossible, charging conditions.
Different are nickel-cadmium batteries, do not like depth cycles in SLA. Full discharge can result in additional pressure and a small amount of battery for each cycle. This wear downward characteristic is also suitable for different levels of other chemical batteries. In order to prevent batteries that emphasize by repeated deep discharge, a larger battery SLA is recommended.
Lead-acid batteries
Depending on the depth of discharge and operating temperature, the SLA provides 200 to 300 discharge / charging cycles. The main reason for its relatively short cycle life is the depletion of the positive polar plate grid corrosion, the active material, and the positive electrode plate. These changes are the most common at higher operating temperatures. Cycling will not block or reverse the trend.
The best operating temperature is SLA and valve-controlled sealing lead-acid storage 25 ¡ã C (77 ¡ã F). As an empirical rule, the temperature rise per 8 ¡ã C (15 ¡ã F) will reduce half of the battery life. The valve controlled sealed lead acid will last for 10 years, at 25 ¡ã C, if it is only 5 years at 33 ¡ã C (95 ¡ã F). The same battery will be slightly more than one year at a temperature of 42 ¡ã C (107 ¡ã F).
A modern rechargeable battery, a lead battery family has the lowest energy density such that it is not suitable for a handheld device that requires a compact size. In addition, performance at low temperatures is poor.
The SLA is rated for 5 hours to discharge 0.2c or. Some batteries are even rated in a slow 20 hour discharge. The longer discharge time produces higher capacity readings. The high pulse current of the SLA is good. In these pulses, the discharge rate is larger than 1C.

In terms of disposal, SLA is less harmful than nickel-cadmium batteries, but high lead capacity, so that the SLA environment is unfriendly.
