The diaphragm material of the lithium-ion battery is mainly a porous polyolefin such as the polypropylene separator produced by Celgard and the polyethylene film, and the copolymer of ethylene and propylene. These materials have higher porosity, lower resistance, high tear strength, preferably anti-acid base, good elasticity, and retention of apron solvent.
There are two main methods for the preparation of lithium ion battery diaphragms, namely, melt stretching (MSCs) and thermal phase separation (TIPS). The MSCS process is relatively simple, and there is no pollution during the production process, which is the main method of producing separator materials in the world. The TIPS method needs to add and remove the diluent during the production process, and the production cost is high and accompanied by secondary pollution.
